Control Tower

Originally built in 1942 our tower had seen many generations of pilots use the airfield in war and peace times. In 2008 the County began work to bring the tower back to a functional state. Historic Wendover Foundation has helped direct some of the restoration work and much of the structural work is near completion. However, if heights do not bother you we need your help!

  • Exterior sanding
  • Exterior painting
  • Rough and Finish carpentry (the control desk needs to be reconstructed)
  • AC installation - we have a new unit but can use help with installation
  • Tower glass replacement - the large west window needs to be replaced
  • Telecommunications finish work - internet and telephone jacks need to be installed
  • Monetary donations
