Donations, Gifts, Sponsorships

The Historic Wendover Airfield museum runs solely on museum admissions and donations for operations, displays, events and programs. We are very grateful for all those individuals, companies and foundations that are helping and have helped in the past.

Join our supporters who are committed to keeping the WWII history alive and who are grateful for the sacrifices of our WWII veterans, families and those who supported the war effort in factories, businesses and homes. Donations are 100% tax deductible.

Corporate and Foundation Gifts

Donations are needed and appreciated to continue the restoration work at the airfield. Donors will receive special recognition for donations to buildings, projects or as sponsors for exhibits.

Specific projects that need additional funding at this time are:

  • The B-29 ‘Enola Gay’ Hangar. We’re currently restoring the men’s and women’s restrooms in the hangar. Additional funds are needed for the fire sprinkler system, lighting and electrical systems and interior offices restoration.
  • The Airman’s Dining Hall. Volunteer work and some donations have been used to restore the west and south sides of the exterior. Now we need to work on the north and east sides needing siding, windows and door restoration. Some interior restoration has taken place but more needs to be done there also.
  • Base Guard Shack & Fence. The original guard shack is on the airfield and not in restorable shape but a reconstruction using the original dimensions is planned. This would be placed at the south entrance to the barracks/dining hall compound along with new period fencing.
  • Period Military Bus. The airfield wants to acquire an older 40-50 passenger bus, paint it in military colors and use it for our base tours.
  • Control Tower Exhibit and interactive simulator. A new exhibit is planned for the control tower which would give visitors an interactive experience controlling runway lights and interacting with simulated bomber aircraft.
  • Additional exhibits: 1) Nurse’s Quarters Exhibit, 2) B-29 Hangar Engine Shop, Revised History video.
